Keep On Walking!

I found this image from a wall in Aruba and thought it was an apt description of what we're doing on this protocol.

We know where we're going, and we will not be deterred, deflected or denied.

What"s this all about?

This is a narrative of my experiences using Dr. A.T. Simeon's HcG weight loss protocol as described in his book, "Pounds and Inches: A New Approach To Obesity."

The use of HcG as a weight-loss agent is not approved by the US Food and Drug Administration, and to date, there have been no studies proving or refuting its effectiveness as claimed in Dr. Simeon's book. That being said, however, there are thousands of people who are successfully using HcG to lose weight, and the protocol is being used by numerous doctors, clinics and practices here in the US and around the world.

I have been overweight or obese virtually all my life, and up until a few years ago, it had not impacted my life in a significant way. True, I was fairly inactive physically, but was still able to enjoy life, maintain a career, raise a family and do most of the things everyone else does.

During my early fifties, however, warning signs were beginning to appear: chest pains, recurring acid reflux, very high cholesterol, loss of physical stamina, difficulty sleeping. A routine medical check revealed a surprising elevation in blood pressure, which continued to rise to the 155/100 range. Clearly something needed to be done. My doctor, a good man, had prescribed medications to help, but I did not react well to them, and found the side effects to be numerous and debilitating. As the problems mounted, so did the required prescriptions, and all their attendant side effects. It was time to do something different.

Obviously, most of my physical problems stemmed from the extra weight I have been carrying. I had been on multiple diets earlier in my life (Weight Watchers, Atkins, you name it) and had always gained the weight back after each program. I began a new search for something that would not only enable me to lose weight, but also reshape the body and allow me to eat normally without regaining weight at the end of the program.

By chance, I happened to stumble across the HCG2 group on Yahoo, and read multiple stories of success using the HcG protocol. After reading Dr. Simeon's book, and noting the increasing adoption of the protocol by doctors and clinics here in the US, I decided to give it a try.
